Ayubowan & welcome to Sri Lanka!
Your driver will be holding your name board at the arrival gate you come out of immigration in the airport.
We are making the best out of your morning arrival & heading straight to the cultural triangle. The drive is about 3.5 hours.
Your driver will show you plenty of good restaurant options if you wish to stop for lunch on the way.
Explore Negombo’s colonial charm this morning — the Roman Catholic churches, bustling fish market, and tranquil canal network that once ferried cinnamon and spice. Journey north to the wilderness of Wilpattu and check in to your safari lodge and prepare for your first night under a canopy of stars.
Spend the full day on safari with a packed lunch, exploring Sri Lanka’s largest and oldest national park, home to elephants, the elusive Sri Lankan leopard, spotted deer, peacocks, the unique sloth bear and a wild diversity of fauna and flora. Return to camp as the sun fades over the forest edge — the perfect setting for stories shared around a lantern-lit dinner.
This morning, step back in time to Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Sri Lanka’s first ancient kingdom. Next, visit Jethawanaramaya — a magnificent 121-metre stupa built from over 93 million bricks, making it one of the largest structures of the ancient world. Once home to more than 10,000 monks, it stands as a symbol of Sri Lanka’s spiritual devotion and architectural brilliance. Continue to the Kuttam Pokuna (Twin Ponds), the Elephant Pond, and Abhayagiriya, each revealing the ingenuity and grandeur of a civilization far ahead of its time. Climb Mihintale, where Buddhism first found its roots on the island. Later, travel east toward
Habarana, your gateway to Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. The evening is yours to rest and enjoy nature.
Embark early this morning to uncover the history and ingenuity behind Sigiriya, one of Sri Lanka’s most remarkable ancient landmarks. Ascend the spectacular Rock Fortress, exploring its Water Gardens, the famed Mirror Wall, and the delicate frescoes that still whisper stories from centuries past. Pause at the base of the Lion Rock, built by King Kashyapa (477–495 A.D.), where the colossal paws of a once- majestic lion still guard the entrance. At the summit, discover the remains of a grand royal citadel — meditation caves, audience platforms, and ancient baths — all set against sweeping views that capture the brilliance of a bygone era.
This afternoon, continue your journey to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that reflects the grandeur of Sri Lanka’s medieval kingdom. The landscape is adorned with vast man-made reservoirs — none more impressive than the Parakrama Samudra, or Sea of Parakrama, a shimmering expanse larger than Colombo’s harbor. Explore remarkably preserved monuments that tell stories of a flourishing era: the Royal Palace complex, the graceful Lotus Bath, and the awe- inspiring Gal Vihare, where four serene Buddha statues have been masterfully carved from a single granite rock — a timeless tribute to artistic and spiritual devotion.
Begin your morning in stillness with a guided yoga session, followed by a village visit and lunch prepared in traditional clay pots over wood fire. Learn the rhythms of rural life with warm smiles, gentle conversations, and hospitality that endures. Climb to the summit of Pidurangala Rock, located just 3 km north of Sigiriya Fortress, and explore the remains of an ancient Buddhist monastery nestled on its slopes. From the apex, especially at sunrise, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views that stretch across the surrounding jungle and plains, offering a truly unforgettable perspective of the Cultural Triangle.
After breakfast and hotel check-out, journey to the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the 1st century BC. Explore its five caves, adorned with exquisite paintings, inscriptions, and iconic Buddha statues, including a colossal 15-metre figure that dominates the central sanctuary. Continue your drive to Kandy, pausing at a local spice garden to experience the scents and flavors of Sri Lanka’s rich culinary heritage. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure, soaking in the serene beauty of the hill country.
Trade the city for the highlands as you trek through the Knuckles Mountain Range —a UNESCO World Heritage site of cloud forests, tea gardens, and waterfalls. Named for its series of jagged peaks that resemble a clenched fist, the range is a haven for biodiversity, home to rare flora and fauna, and traditional hill-country villages.Trekkers and nature lovers are rewarded with panoramic views, crisp mountain air, and a sense of serenity that feels worlds away from the island’s bustling lowlands. Enjoy a picnic lunch along the trail, with time to breathe, listen, and reconnect with nature. Return to Kandy by late afternoon, your senses filled with mountain air and birdsong.
This morning, board the scenic train from Nanu Oya to Ella — one of the world’s most beautiful rail journeys. Watch the landscape shift from misty tea country to sun- dappled valleys and quaint villages. Arrive in Ella, a charming hill town surrounded by lush peaks and waterfalls. The evening is yours to relax and savor the mountain calm.
Hop into a tuk-tuk for a local-style morning adventure — hike up Little Adam’s Peak for spectacular views. Little Adam’s Peak, located near Ella in Sri Lanka’s hill country, is a gentle yet rewarding hike offering panoramic views of lush tea plantations, misty valleys, and cascading waterfalls. Named for its resemblance to the iconic Adam’s Peak, it is accessible to most travellers and is particularly stunning at sunrise or sunset, making it a perfect spot to experience the tranquil beauty of Sri Lanka’s highlands. Then wander along the famous Nine Arches Bridge, a feat of colonial-era engineering and charm. Constructed entirely of stone and brick without steel, the bridge spans a deep valley surrounded by lush tea plantations and jungle. Return for a leisurely afternoon of café hopping amid the cool mountain breeze.
After breakfast, descend from the hills to the south coast and arrive at the historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on Sri Lanka’s southern coast, is a striking blend of colonial architecture and tropical charm. Originally built by the Portuguese and expanded by the Dutch in the 17th century, its ramparts, bastions, and cobblestone streets house boutique shops, cafés, and museums.
Join your guide for an afternoon fort walk, discovering the fusion of Dutch architecture and Sri Lankan soul that makes this coastal town timeless.
A day for rest and reflection. Lounge by the turquoise waters, explore artisan shops, or sip tea at a colonial veranda as waves break beyond the walls. Let the Indian Ocean set your pace — slow, gentle, and full of quiet joy.
Today, set out for Bentota to experience one of Geoffrey Bawa’s architectural masterpieces — Lunuganga. Tucked away at the end of a rustic dirt road, this serene estate is both a creative sanctuary and a haven for Sri Lanka’s diverse wildlife. After a guided tour through its gardens and pavilions, enjoy a delicious lunch before continuing to Colombo.
Sri Lanka’s bustling capital, Colombo, is a city of contrasts — where rich history meets vibrant modernity. Explore its historic landmarks, visit sacred temples, wander through lively markets, or savor the city’s dynamic culinary scene, all woven into a tapestry of culture and commerce. As the sun sets, gather for a farewell dinner at The Ministry of Crab, one of Asia’s most celebrated Michelin Star dining experiences.
